Key Facts HSDPA and HSUPA are packet oriented enhancements of the 3GPP FDD standard to enable higher data rates and low latency especially for data transfer. While HSDPA – High speed downlink packet access – increases the downlink data rates (transmission from the basestation to the user equipment), HSUPA – High speed uplink packet access – enables higher rates in uplink. The R&S®SMJ-K45 option can generate all HSUPA physical channels and provides channel coding. Therefore, the R&S®SMJ-K45 is suitable for receiver tests on basestations and on mobiles. Further applications are measurements on power amplifiers and other modules.
